4 July 2013

Gardening and bug catching, then swimming, omelets and fireworks. A most happy independence day!

End of Intensive Therapy Party

As part of transition out of Intensive Therapy (4 years, 25 hours a week, yes, every week) we had a party.  Preparations included making a chocolate cake with blue icing decorated with green dinosaurs.  Three of Julia's therapists past and present celebrated with pizza and cake and fun.  We ALL took a bike ride together -- all of us on bikes and no one running behind Julia.  A big milestone.  We also created a canvas.  Julia drew the picture -- on the spot and very fast -- and then Julia and her therapists painted.  We were all most impressed that Julia made changes as she painted and allowed her friends to make changes as well.  Another milestone!

The painting continues after the party but the days have been too nice to me in the house painting.  Soon it will be finished.

And we gave these dear friends and very hard working and loving people gifts of a print of Julia's dancing fairy dinosaurs, David's Criminal Appeal and a decorated thank you from Julia.

Year book signing

Signing yearbooks.  Julia drew dinosaurs for her classmates making her "signature" quite popular.
